YouTube, the world’s largest video-sharing platform, has turned 17 years old and in celebration of its anniversary, the platform has undergone a major revamp.
The redesign of the platform was aimed at providing a more modern and immersive experience for viewers while also improving how users watch videos.
The new design features a cleaner, more vibrant look, with dynamic color sampling that adjusts the app background color to match the video being watched. This creates a more immersive experience that draws viewers into the content.
In addition to the new look, YouTube has also made changes to the watch page to make it easier on the eyes. YouTube links in video descriptions have been replaced with buttons, and frequent actions such as like, share, and download have been formatted to minimize distractions. The subscribe button has also been given a makeover for improved accessibility.
YouTube has also introduced new features that were previously tested on youtube.com/new. These include pinch-to-zoom functionality that allows viewers to zoom in and out of a video on their iOS or Android phones and precise seeking, which displays a row of thumbnails in the video player, making it easier to make fine-tuned adjustments to get to the exact part of the video.
The platform’s continued improvements are largely due to feedback from its creators and viewers. YouTube’s teams are constantly thinking of ways to improve the platform for its users, and these updates are no exception. With this revamp, YouTube aims to provide a better viewing experience for its community, while also staying true to its core values.
The new Youtube design will facilitate a stunning viewer experience which also benefits both brands and creators in making sure their content will be granted a superb attention by their viewers and by default stronger impact and memorable content experience.
